Introduction To Food...

We live in a world that is surrounded by food. We see it everywhere, weather it be walking down the street and seeing a bill bored, or at home watching T.V. Food is really important to us, not only because we need it to survive, but also for many other reason such as cultural diversity. The food you find here in Canada, or the States will be much different from say places like the Ukraine, India, Ireland, Scotland, and many other places that have different verities of dishes. Yes, now in days we see a McDonald's or Burger King every couple blocks, but I am not talk about Fast food, I'm talking about real food. But more to the point. I have created this blog on behalf of C.J.'s Foods, which is my official food website. What C.J.'s Foods has done is created a small community of people who like to share recipes, try new things, show off their creations, and much more.

Just a little information about the website. We have 14 members of the community so far, and we are always looking for more people to join. We have great content such as voting and nominating monthly recipes. A place to submit your recipes with a chance to have them featured as our top recipe. We have active forums for those who like to have conversations about various topics about food. We have a great health section of the website for those who wanna post healthy recipes and make them known. We even have our own Facebook page for those who are fans, and you can use Facebook to sign-in.

One of our more impressive things going right now is the fact that we are working on a section of the site called herbs and spices. This is a ever-growing collection of information about herbs and spices. It will one day be complete with the help of our community. It will have every kind of herb and spice known to mankind and information about the use of it in food or as a remedy. All that information will be included while we continue to create our long list.

Another great thing about C.J.'s Food is that we really enjoy posting facts and historic pieces about food, such as where did the food originate, is there a difference in cooking methods between back then, and today. We also post little random facts about the food or culture too. Like did you know that back in a day during the days of the race to the new world that people ate fermented cabbage (sauerkraut) to prevent scurvy. It's because of the high amounts of vitamin C found in the sauerkraut that prevented scurvy which essentially is a illness caused by the lack of vitamin C.

Anyhow, This has been C.J.'s Food First Official blog post. We hope that you enjoyed reading and that you have a better understanding of who we are and what we do. Feel free to come check out our website, or Facebook page sometime. Even join up and start to post your own content such as recipes and more. Thanks for reading, and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
